Founded December 1, 2010 by parents, supporters, and Williamsville Athletic Director Dr. James Rusin, the WNY Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Federation organizes high school varsity girls' ice hockey under NYSPHSAA Section VI governance in Western New York. Nine combined school-district programs compete in the league, including Kenmore/Grand Island/Lockport, Williamsville, Monsignor Martin, St. Mary's, and Niagara County (Starpoint/Niagara-Wheatfield).
